Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz chickpeas, drained and rinsed (or 1½ cups cooked chickpeas)
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • ¼ cup cold water plus more as needed
  • Juice of 1 fresh lemon about 3 tablespoons
  • 1 garlic clove peeled
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • Optional Toppings
  • Fresh parsley chopped
  • Smoked paprika or chili flakes
  • Olive oil drizzle

Instructions
 

  • Add the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt, and water to a food processor or high-speed blender.
  • Blend until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed.
  • If the hummus is too thick, add extra water one tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with parsley or your favorite toppings.
