Ingredients
  

  • 10 slices crusty bread or baguette ½-inch thick
  • 1 pound ripe tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 15 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Dice tomatoes and discard excess liquid if watery.
  • Mix tomatoes with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper, and basil.
  • Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  • Toast bread until golden and crisp.
  • Rub warm bread with garlic.
  • Top with tomato mixture and serve immediately.
